Robert L. Ford, 70, of Lewistown, passed away at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at his home.

Born Jan. 13, 1947, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Hilda (Snavely) and Leon Ford.

He is survived by: his wife of almost 47 years, Mary Adair Ford; his children, of whom he was extremely proud, Ryan L. Ford and Jessica A. Ford, both of Lewistown, Lori Plater and husband, Chris, of Waldorf, Md.; and his honorary daughter, Jackie Woodall, of Harrisonburg, Va.

Bob is also survived by his grandchildren, whom he adored, Layla Osman and Ryker Ford, of Lewistown, and Mason Plater and Logan Plater, of Waldorf, Md. He loved taking his grandchildren on his golf cart.

Bob was a graduate of Chief Logan High School, Class of 1964, and Williamsport Area Community College. He worked for Tressler-Lutheran Services as a maintenance supervisor at Ohesson Manor and later in property management for Diakon. He also owned Central Novelty for 25 years.

He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing trips with his longtime friends, archery hunting, NASCAR, making fries with the Chief Logan Lions and always finding something to do outside.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Richard Bender officiating.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
