Eugene Norman Guffey, 89, of Oak St., Troy, died Thursday morning at his residence.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 25, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Troy, with Rev. Ed Lowder officiating. Burial will follow in Southside Cemetery with military rites.

Born in Rutherford County on May 15, 1927, he was the son of John Jasper and Elsie Elizabeth Edwards Guffey. For many years, he was the owner of the Nationwide Insurance Agency in Troy and a veteran of the US Army.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service at First Baptist Church in Troy.

Freeman of Marshall, NC, Patricia G. Wiggins of Concord, Paula G. Quate of Wilmington, and Judith G. Harden of Troy; sister, Mildred G. Morrow of Forest City, NC; 16 Grandchildren; 15 Great-grandchildren; 1 Great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service at First Baptist Church in Troy.
