THOMAS LEONARD STORIE: Lower Burnt River cattle rancher & member of a pioneer family, passed away Monday Mar 2nd at his home in Dixie OR following a long illness; he was 71. MrStorie was born at Durkee on 12 Oct 1892 to Sidney & Iva May (Leonard) Storie. He attended schools in Durkee, Baker & Weiser ID. He was married to Lettie Harriet Sisley 31 Oct 1916 at Dixie. He had been a cattle rancher most of his life in the Durkee-Dixie area. MrStorie was a member of Modern Woodmen of the World, the Grange & the Cattlemen's Assn. Surviving are his wife, Lettie of Dixie; a daughter: MrsDonna Sheehy-Union OR; a son: Sidney Storie-Pendleton; a brother: Ed Storie-Boise ID & 4 sisters: MrsEleanor Bradfield-North Powder, MrsVera Powell-Baker, MrsMary Munn-CanyonCity OR; 12 grandchildren & several nieces & nephews. A son Melvin Storie preceded him in death; a brother Harry Storie was killed in WWII. Services for MrStorie will be conducted Thursday afternoon, Mar 5, in the Beatty Chapel; Rev Everett Blair will officiate. Interment will be at Durkee Cemetery.
