Ruby Virginia (Ginny) Kelley Justus, 83-years-old, died on Saturday, February 18, 2017.

Ginny was born on November 18, 1933 in Morgantown, West Virginia to Ralph and Alma (Hooton) Kelley, the eldest of eight children in the small coal mining community of Canyon.

Known for her generosity in the selfless voluntary work that she never seemed to tire of, she became a member of the Monongalia General Hospital Auxiliary where she spent many Friday’s working in the hospital gift shop with a smile and a keen sense of humor. Her devotion to the Canyon Presbyterian Church Food Pantry was her true passion. She spent countless hours replenishing the pantry, but her greatest joy was the smiles on the faces of those she could help in some small way. She maintained a simple life that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing faith. Her gift of giving of herself, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.

After graduating from University High School she was a mother and housewife for several years until her children started school and she then began working at the Sterling Faucet Factory in 1962, where she remained until their closing.

Married for 64 years, Ginny & Art remained and raised their three children, Ralph, Brenda, and Bruce in the same small community where she grew up. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Ginny faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking and baking. All waited anxiously for holidays when she would put on her apron to bake her famous nut rolls, lady locks and peanut butter fudge only being a mere few of her delicacies which she loving made and sampled quite often herself. A woman of faith and the heart of the entire family, Ginny was a true example to all who knew her. She was a faithful lifelong member of the Canyon Presbyterian Church.

Her surviving family members include: A son Ralph Justus, daughter Brenda Justus Snyder and husband Gary, and a son Bruce Justus and wife Anette all of Morgantown. Grandchildren, Gary (Pete) Snyder and wife Jenny of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Kelly Snyder Cantwell and husband Chris of Bradenton, Florida. David Justus and wife Susie, of Pennsylvania, Jamie Justus and husband Ryan of Morgantown, and James (Jimmy) Justus and girlfriend Tonya of Morgantown. Great grandchildren, Lucas and Hannah Snyder, Brittney Compa, Cydnee and Carlee Justus, Taylor Snyder, Kailey and Lindsey Cantwell, Julianna Justus, Lilly Justus and one Great great grandson, Bradley. She has one living sister, Verna Lewis and husband James.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Alma (Hooton) Kelley, husband Arthur G. Justus, grandson, William (Billy) Justus and six siblings, Ira, Warren, Eugene, Kenneth and Ronald Kelley, and one sister, Marion Wolverton.

Honoring Ginny’s wishes, cremation services were performed by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.
