Mrs. Eleanor Loraine Adams, 76, of Leesburg, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.
Born March 30, 1940 in Coleman, Georgia, Mrs. Adams was the daughter of the late Loraine Settles and Christine Elizabeth Gilmer Settles. She was a 1958 graduate of Cuthbert High School. She made her home in Leesburg for the last 46 years and worked for over 20 years for Lee County Manufacturing and was the store manager at Goody’s of Albany. She loved to fish, enjoyed camping and outdoor activities. More than anything she loved her family and will be remembered as a Christian lady who cared well for her family.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, George H. Adams of Leesburg; two daughters, Marion Adams Janzen of Leesburg and Marsha Adams Herndon of Willow Springs, Missouri; two sisters, Anna Ruth Johnson of McDonough, Georgia, and Virginia Lamar of Dexter, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Dave Bandy and Liz Bandy Holley of Leesburg, Michaela Colvin of Royal Oaks, Michigan, Megan Sorrell of Pensacola, Florida and Alex Malko of Kansas City, Missouri; and Two great-grandchildren that she adored.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in the Leesburg Cemetery. Rev. Robin Chaplin will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Highway 19 S. Leesburg, GA. 31763.
