Mr. Robert Earl Elder, age 64 of Calhoun, departed this life on Friday evening June 22, 2001, at the Gordon Hospital.
Mr. Elder was born May 5, 1937, in Polk County, Tenn. He was the son of the late Willie Price and Geneva Maude (Walter) Elder.
Mr. Elder was a member of the Dalton Masonic Lodge No. 105 and the Yarrab Temple in Atlanta.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mrs. Arlene (Check) Elder of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Renee Kay Elder and Roy Beavers of Calhoun; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sandra Elder, Danny Elder and John Elder, all of Calhoun, and Dale and Wanda Elder of Chatsworth.
Grandchildren, John, Shawn, Meredith, Brandy, Amy, Robert, Marybeth, Ayla, Megan, Hannah and Lee; five greatchildren.
Brother, Thomas Elder of Chatsworth; sisters, Frances Thompson of Chattanooga, Edna Moyer of Cleveland, Tenn., and Peggy Wilson and Reba Cayes, both of Ocoee, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Joan Christine of Drtroit, Mich., several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services were held on Tuesday at the chapel of Ponder Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Marlin officiating.
Entombment was in the Whitfield Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
