Allison Ackart was born in Gloversville 71 years ago. He was the son of James H. and Catharine Ackart. In early life he was a conductor on the Delaware & Hudson Company railway, and lived in Oneonta, Otsego County, NY. Later he resided in Chicago, but over twenty years ago he returned to New York. Allison was an attendant at the Binghamton State Hospital, retiring on a pension a year ago.

Allison was survived by his daughter, Mrs. Grace Sosey, of Chicago, IL, a grandson, Lynheart Sosey, of Chicago; a brother, O E Ackart, of Oneonta and several nieces and nephews. His only son, Pvt. William Ackart, US Army was killed in service in the Spanish-American War and buried in Glenwood Cemetery in Oneonta. Interment will be made in the Prospect Hill Cemetery
