Marjorie Fern Lusby, 84, Republic, MO, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2006 at Doctor's Hospital, Springfield, MO.
She was born Oct. 5, 1922 in Howard County, MO, to Clarence and Bessie Long-Baslee. She lived on a farm in the Burton community for many years and moved to Fayette, MO in the early 1980s following the death of her husband, Glenn. She made her home in Republic approximately 14 years ago to be near her family.
She was a licensed practical nurse and was employed at Boone Hospital Center, then Boone County Hospital, for many years and also practiced private duty nursing for those needing home health care.
She was a member of the Boonesboro Christian Church and enjoyed sewing and collecting jewelry. She was especially fond of her pets.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roy W. and Mary Jackson, Republic, MO, formerly of Chanute, KS; and two grandchildren, Jake McKenzie and Heather Irons and her husband, Brian, all of Republic, MO; two great-grandchildren, Bethan and Hadon Irons, also of Republic, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Clay Jackson and Glenn Lusby. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia Jackson, and a sister, Anna Rose Dodd.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27 at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette, MO. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will follow the service at Fayette City Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Central Missouri Humane Society in care of Carr-Yager Funeral Home, 204 N. Linn Ave., Fayette, MO 65248.
