Joseph J. Zywicki, 83, of Peckville, died Monday at AseraCare Hospice, Mid-Valley Hospital, Peckville. His wife is the former Dorothy T. Shander. They celebrated their 58th anniversary Sept. 29.
Born in Olyphant, son of the late John and Philomena Frydryk Zywicki, he resided in Peckville for more than 50 years. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Olyphant, and a graduate of Olyphant High School. He retired from Anemostat, Scranton.
Surviving are two sons; three grandsons; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley, Anthony, Philip and the Rev. Francis Zywicki, and two sisters, Edna Reda and Sophie Greskovic.
The funeral will be from the Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home, Olyphant, with Mass in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Olyphant, to be celebrated by the Rev. Phillip J. Sladicka, pastor. Interment, St. Mary's Mausoleum, Dickson City.
