He was born August 6, 1919, at Rutland, SD, to Fred and Emma (Hildebrandt) Hanneman. He attended Rutland School. He married Katherine Croisant on June 7, 1941, at Worthington, MN. They farmed near Rutland and later near Madison before moving into Madison in 1988. He drove school bus for Rutland, Beadle Campus School, and Madison for 43 years. He also worked for Graceland Cemetery for several years. He was an active member of the Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed playing cards. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was the funeral usher for many years. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Martin Hanneman was preceeded in death by his parents, hsi son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Bobbie Hanneman, and two sisters, Ione Campbell and Joyce Hallenbeck.
Survivors include his wife Kate of Madison; two sons, Donald (Carrie) Hanneman of Dell Rapids and Chuck (Eileen) Hanneman of Tacoma, WA; one daughter, Karen (Bob) Hemre of Sioux Falls; one sister, Doris (Bud) Janke of Madison; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sat., Jan. 27, in Trinity Lutheran Church, and burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
