He is survived by his 2 children, Deborah Ali Hassig of New Martinsville, WV and John B. Ali of Morristown, NJ, five grandchildren, Rachael Hassig Gardner, Jakob R. Hassig, Jessica Ali Lanigan, John Brock Ali, and Chelsea Nicole Ali and five great-grandchildren, Elias Blue Gardner, Marin Gardner, Kieran Lanigan, Rowan Lanigan and Phoenix Rivas. Also surviving are a sister, Teresa Ali Lanham, 90 years, of Hollywood. Florida and a brother , Domanic V. Ali, Jr., 86 years, of Sistersville Center.
John was born in Clarksburg, WV on June 17, 1926. He served in the Navy in World War II and then worked as a fireman for the Clarksburg Fire Department. While working as a fireman, he attended and graduated from Salem College. For the rest of his working career, he was employed by Corning Glass works at its Paden City, WV facility, its Steuben facility in Corning, NY and at its Main Plant facility in Corning , New York retiring in 1988.
John is best remembered for his love of family, sports as well as his great sense of humor. There will be no visitation and private services will be held for the family.
