John was born on February 10, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Ann and Albin Siatka. He was the oldest of five children. John loved his siblings, and showed his love in his own unique way. He took care of his family and enjoyed giving them a hard time.
After finishing school, John met and fell in love with Nanci (Jacobs) Siatka. The two got married August 31, 1974 (and then on again on September 1, 1974). Four years later, they started their family with their first child, Nicholas, and finished out their family a year and a half later with their daughter, Alyson.
John and Nanci had over 42 wonderful years of marriage together that were filled with graduations, marriages, births, and all of the happy moments that came in between. In all of their time together, they had 8 different houses that they called a home, 2 loving children, 6 sweet grandchildren, and countless happy memories. John will be remembered as the solid rock of his family -- a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. And he will always be remembered as a Home Depot fanatic.
He is survived by his wife, Nanci Siatka of McKinney, Texas; son, Nicholas Siatka and wife, Gloria, also of McKinney; daughter, Alyson Esch and husband, Casey of Sachse, Texas; grandchildren, Hailey, M.J., Neveah, Liberty, Zachary, and Carter; sisters, Kathy Chernich and husband, Carl of Indiana, Frances Alexander and husband, Brian and Nancy Kusy and husband, Pete, all of Illinois; and brother, Robert Siatka of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, March 10, 2017, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.
