A Sad Death
Mrs. R. W. Conrad Passes Away on Monday Morning,
"Mrs. R. W. Conard died at her old home on High street, near Oak, on Monday morning shortly alter 7 o'clock, from a hemorrhage during labor in childbirth. She came to this city from her home on Paynes creek about a month ago for medical attendance. The little one did not come into the world alive. The death is a peculiarly sad one as she was a young woman beloved by a large circle of friends, had the happiest of homes, and leaves an affectionate husband and two beautiful children to mourn her unexpected demise. Mrs. Conard’s maiden name was Lizzie Anderson. She was the oldest child of Mrs. Phoebe M. Anderson, widow of David G. Anderson, and while she was born in Missouri some 43 years ago, still she was raised and educated in this county. She was a beautiful woman in face and disposition and among the old timers there are few who had more friends than she. Besides the husband and children. one a boy of 7, the other.a girl of 4, she leaves an aged mother, three sisters, Mrs. H. S. Eicher, Mary and Jessie Anderson, and a brother, Will T. Anderson, Her husband is a prominent farmer and stock raiser, and a member of the well known Conard family of this county, comprising a number of our very best citizens. The hour of the funeral has not been definitely fixed, but it will very likely take place from the Christian church here on Wednesday afternoon."

Large family Connections.
"There was a large representation from Paynes creek, relatives and near friends, here on Wednesday to attend the funeral of Mrs. R. W. Conard. It included Mrs. Phoebe Anderson and her daughters, Jessie and Mary, mother and sisters of the deceased, R. W. Conard and his children, David G. and Rosie, husband and children of the departed, Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Eicher, the latter being a sister to the deceased, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Conard, daughter Maude and sons Herman and Leo, Mrs. E. W. Conrad, daughter Edna and son Clarence, and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Kauffman. Will T. Anderson, a brother of deceased, was here from near Sisson. The Anderson, Conard and Kauffman families comprise some of the leading citizens of the county, and a misfortune to one is felt by the whole community."
