Dale Lynn Sneed, age 63, of Oklahoma City, passed away March 8, 2017. He was born September 22, 1953, in Norman, OK. Dale was a member of Elevate Church and previously a member of the Nazarene Church in Norman, serving as a president of the board there. He was a 1971 graduate of Del City High School. Dale was an OKC police officer for 33 years and 3 months. He earned his ranks as a field officer and then became a detective obtaining the rank of an inspector.
Dale enjoyed watching his children excel in sports and life. He had a passion for genealogy. Dale was a special person who devoted his life to his family and his job. He always gave his blessing over all of the babies in the family. Dale was an avid reader. He enjoyed history, especially the Cherokee Nation. Dale had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dale is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna Kay Sneed; 5 children, Shelli McClaran & husband, Tim, Kyle Morgan Sneed, Danielle Morgan Sneed, Preston Michael Sneed, and Emily Beth Sneed; 9 grandchildren, Stephen Timothy, Jude Alexander, Miryani, Jesse Allen, Seraphina, David, and Ophelia McClaren, and Collin and Corbin Sneed; 3 brothers, Darrell Sneed, Lonnie Sneed & wife, Belinda, and Lyndal Sneed & wife, Debra; and a host of other loving family members, co-workers and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert & Ollie Sneed; and 1 brother, Larry Sneed.
Funeral Services for Dale will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 13, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church of Moore, located at 201 W. Main Street. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make donations to the Salvation Army or to Elevate Church to the “Rise Up and Build Fund”. Visitation will be at John M. Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway, Moore, OK, on Saturday, March 11th from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Sunday, March 12th from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
