Hilma I. Bonnici

Mrs. Bonnici, age 88, longtime Belleville Area resident, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at her daughter's home, following a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born October 14, 1928 in DeKoven, Kentucky, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson & Dolin M. (Piper) Haney.
Hilma was a active and devoted member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Belleville. She was a member of the senior center, and loved playing cards, quilting and needle work. She also enjoyed antiques and flea markets.
She is survived by 3 children, Robert (Denyse) Bonnici of the Florida Keys, Kim (Reggie) Ion of Belleville, MI and Michael Bonnici of Belleville, also 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph on September 10, 2003, daughter Marie Bonnici in 1962, also 8 brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be 12 Noon until 8 PM Wednesday at David C. Brown Funeral Home, 460 E. Huron River Dr., Belleville, MI 48111-2764 (734)697-4500. A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Thursday, February 23, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 409 W. Columbia Ave., Belleville. The family will welcome guests from 10-11 AM at the church. Father Thomas H. Cusick will serve as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Belleville.
