"DEATH SUMMONS MRS. WILEY FOWLER
One of County's Best Known Women Yields to Long Sickness
About Noon Thursday - Was Wife of Prominent Retired Farmer - Funeral Arrangements To Be Announced.
Mrs. Wiley Fowler died at the home on North Hazel street Friday about noon, after suffering an illness of several months.
Mrs. Fowler was wife of the well known retired farmer and was one of the best known women of Vermilion county, having lived in this county for nearly a half century. The news of the death will come with the greatest sorrow for it means that another woman who was one of the best in the community, has been called from life's activities.
Besides her husband, deceased is survived by three children, Mrs. Coolley, wife of Dr. Coolley, U. G. Fowler and David Fowler. All were at the bedside when the summons came, the latter arriving from the west only an hour before the mother, who had struggled against death until he should come, became unconscious.
The funeral arrangements will be announced."

Many friends from Danville and other places assembled at the home of Wiley Fowler, North Hazel street, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock to attend the funeral of Mrs. Fowler, and the house was crowded at the funeral hour.
The services were conducted by Rev. Thomas Ewing, pastor of the Kimber Methodist church. The minister, besides offering prayer, reading passages from the Scripture and making brief remarks, read a short obituary of the life, which recalled the long and useful career of the good woman.
