JOHN BURRELL
DUNCAN - John Burrell, 84, of Rt. 1, Duncan, died Thursday at 6:50 a.m. at the home of a son, Harold Burrell, after three weeks of illness.
Native of upper Greenville county, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Burrell, he was a member of Tigerville Baptist Church. He had lived with his son in the Abner Creek community 26 years. His wife, Mrs. Alice Edwards Burrell, died in 1955.
Surviving in addition to his son are two other sons, Alvin and Carroll Burrell of Greer; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. at Abner Creek Baptist Church by Rev. William Myers, Rev. Hubert Finley and Rev. Paul Burch. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Otis, Claude, Cecil, Eugene and Jimmy Burrell and Horace Hammett.
The body will be taken to the home of his son, Harold Burrell, Friday at 2 p.m. and will be placed in the Church Saturday at 2 p.m.
Wood Mortuary of Greer is in charge.
