He was the son of Fred and Minnie Williams Abeling.
On Oct. 5, 1940, he was married to Elsie Burnham in Ilion.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Burnham; two sisters, Lana Williams of Utica and Mildred Towns of Schenectady and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Shirley E. Cline, Anna Burton and Ethel Abeling and two brothers, Inman S. and Bernard Abeling.
