Bryant J. Mires, 77, Buried Last Saturday --

Funeral services for Bryant J. Mires, aged 77 years, who died Friday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. C. Wilson, near Hazel Green, Alabama, were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Moyers Cemetery near Lincoln, by the Rev. J. M. Neal.

Surviving are five daughters and four brothers.

Bryant J. " Pomp" Mires was the son of Bryant J. Mires Sr...He was b. in Lincoln co., Tn. to Bryant J. Mires Sr. and Tempy Hudson Bates, dau. of Anthony Bates and Catherine Ashby Bates.
He married 4 times:
1st. Mattie King,Lincoln Co, Tn.
2nd: Mary Jackson, Lincoln Co., Tn.
3rd: Lizzie Suggs, Lincoln Co., Tn.
4th: Minnie Lee Jackson, Madison Co., Al.

Bryant has several children by Mattie, includes Carl, B.W, Josephine, Lela, others.. He has none that we know of by Mary Jackson. He has one dau. by Lizzie Suggs, Matilda Mires, who died young (about 11) ..and has by Minnie Jackson, Maggie Mires Ashby, Ellie Mires Russell, Lucy Mires Mitchell and Ruby Lee Mires Pickett, Otis Mires and 2 infants (Carl & Sally) who died at birth or shortly after. (these two infants are buried in the Moore's Family Cem.as well, as is an older bro. who died young, Otis Mires.(Sally is listed in Cem. Records as Baby Mires)

The burial information (meaning Mulberry Cemetery) is incorrect. He is not buried at Mulberry. His unmarked grave is located just off Oliver Smith Rd near the Lincoln community.
Carl, Lela and others mentioned were his grandchildren by daughter Josephine (Josie). My grandmother was also one his grandchildren by Josie.
