Mr. Clarence Norman Blevins, age 76, of Trion, GA, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Floyd Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Mr. Blevins was born May 6, 1940, in Long Island, AL, son of the late Robert Edward Lee Blevins and Dorothy Marie Durham Blevins. He graduated South Pittsburg High School in 1958, then went on to graduate Tennessee Tech in 1962 with a Bachelor's Degree. Mr. Blevins earned his Master's Degree in 1969 from Middle Tennessee State University, and his Ed.S. from Jacksonville State University in 1982. He served as a coach at Canton High School from 1962 to 1965 and at Trion High School from 1965 to 1998 where he coached the football team of the 1974 Class B. State Championship. Mr. Blevins also served as the Trion High School Principal from 1976 until 1998. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Don Blevins and Melvin Lee Blevins.

Mr. Blevins is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha Ellis Blevins; son, Gregory Lee Blevins; daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Donald McGraw; grandchildren, Jarin (Jennifer) Blevins, Daniel (Alissa) Blevins; Ashley (Cain) Smith, Logan Blevins, Mandy (Chad) Durham, Macy Hammonds, and Austin McGraw; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Blevins will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 15, 2017, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Woods and Mr. Dan Logan officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jarin Blevins, Daniel Blevins, Logan Blevins, Cain Smith, Donald McGraw, and Austin McGraw. Honorary pallbearers will be the players of the Trion High School State Football Championship Team of 1974.

Mr. Blevins will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 14, 2017.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Clarence Blevins Scholarship Fund at United Community Bank.
