A World War II Purple Heart recipient, Arnie served in the Army’s 6th armored division and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was past-President of B'nai B'rith Lodge No. 1804; past-President of Hilltoppers Little League; Chairman of the Postmaster's Equal Opportunity Committee; and a member of the Jewish War Veterans. He was a supervisor at the Downtown St. Paul Post Office. After his retirement in 1980, he served on the Board of the Downtown Community Development Council and as a volunteer arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau.
