Dorothy M. Cornprobst, age 88 years of Temperance, MI, who also lived in McMillan, MI in the summers died Saturday, January 27, 2007 in her home. Born, Jan. 30, 1918 in Lucas County, Ohio, she was the daughter of Forrest and Edith (Ebersole) Wright. She was a 1936 graduate of Dundee High School and a graduate of Davis Business College in Toledo. Dorothy married Harry Cornprobst on Nov. 26, 1938 in Toledo, OH. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2006. For many years she taught knitting and crocheting for Bedford Adult Education. She was a member of the Monroe County Farm Bureau, Monroe County Extension, and was also a 4-H leader for many years. Dorothy loved spending time with family and friends in Florida during the winters.
Surviving are her loving children, Carl (Bonnie) Cornprobst of Temperance, MI, Ray (Shirley) Cornprobst of Westerville, OH, Earl (Cheri) Cornprobst of Temperance, MI, Patti McCarty of Britton, MI and Joe (Debbie) Cornprobst of Temperance, MI. Sisters, Ella Folk of Erie, MI and Idell Henry of Samaria, MI, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Step-Mother, Hazel Wright, sister, Betty Meinhart, grandson, Alan Cornprobst and son-in-law, Wm. Edward McCarty.
Visitation will be from 7-9 pm Monday and 2-9 pm Tuesday in the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am. Reverend Mark Smith, officiating. Interment will follow at Erie Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
