Mrs. Brenda Gay Abercrombie, age 54, of McBrayer Drive Blairsville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Emory University Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Abercrombie was born on October 18, 1962 in Walden Colorado, the daughter of the late Benjamin Richard Ballew and the late Betty Spiva Ballew. Brenda was passionate about her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, sister, and nana. Brenda also loved serving her community and the residents of Union County, and did so for over 22 years as a Communications Officer for the Union County E-911 Department where she touched a lot of people’s lives. Everyone who knew Brenda loved her. Brenda was preceded in death by her late husband Jimmy Lynn Abercrombie, brother, Ray Ballew, sister, Karen Ballew, and nephews Tony Bryant and Barry Bryant. Brenda was a lifelong resident of Union County, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband Jimmy.
