Mrs. Harriet G. Alden, widow of the late Elam Alden, of Windsor, died on Monday of last week, at the house of her brother, John W. Spear, in Hartland. She was the daughter of Ebenezer and Zeruiah Spear. Funeral services were held at the house on the following Wednesday, Rev. M. Barrows officiating. The remains were conveyed to Windsor and deposited in the Old South Burying Ground. Her age was 81 years. (The Vermont Journal, Dec. 13, 1884)
