Wife of Cecil Weaver. They owned the drug store and both worked there.Margaret Alice Weaver (Died September 13, 2009) Margaret Alice Weaver was born February 4, 1917 in Albany, Texas to Frank and Vera Donnell and went to be with her Lord on September 13, 2009 in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Margaret graduated from Albany High School and, at age 18, opened a beauty shop there. She met Cecil Weaver and they were married April 4, 1942. Upon Cecil's return from World War II, he and Margaret bought a share of Sanders Drug Store, which they operated as Weaver-Oates Drug until they sold the business in 1978. Margaret and Cecil were blessed with two fine sons they loved with all their hearts, Bill and Don. Margaret continued to live in Albany until 1999, when she moved to Albuquerque to be near her son, Bill and his family. When Bill's family moved to Los Lunas, she moved with them. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Walter, Davis and Irwin; husband, Cecil and son, Don. She is survived by her sister, Evolyn Swink of Conroe, Texas; son, Bill Weaver and his wife, Peggy of Los Lunas; grandchildren, Maggy Fitzgerald and husband, Steve of Belen, Granddaughter, Holly Chapin and great-grandchildren, Levi and Lily Chapin, all of Los Lunas; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Weaver and grandsons, Ben and Steve Weaver, all of Nashville, Tennessee. Those who knew Margaret will remember her kind heart and ready smile. She'll be remembered for her sparkling blue eyes that lit up when she saw a friend and got to share bits of life; she also be remembered for the way she would tilt her head and cover her mouth a little as she laughed and shared joys with others. Those who grew up with her sons, Bill and Don, know that growing up in Albany was a special blessing. One of the advantages of growing up there was that you always knew you were welcome at Weaver-Oates Drug Store and at the Weaver home. Margaret and Cecil treasured all of Albany's kids. Those who were contemporaries of Margaret and Cecil will remember their kindness over the years, their sweet hearts, their joy in life and their pride in Albany and, of course, their love of Texas! Also remembered is the love they had for each other. Everyone could see how they shared the daily ups and downs of life, and always pulled through with smiles on their faces. Bill and Don were their special pride and joy and they always knew how much they were loved by their parents. Margaret and Cecil's love of family extended to all their relatives and their siblings, the nieces and nephews and the grandchildren all got a little of the spoiling that Margaret and Cecil were famous for. Those of you who were their friends were held in a special place in their hearts. Their special friends, Sam and Ellen Webb, were held especially close. Margaret was a member of the First Baptist Church in Albany for over 50 years. For much of that time she served as Sunday School Secretary and faithfully took attendance year after year. Margaret knew Jesus Christ personally! She had accepted Him at a young age and served Him throughout her life. All the kindnesses to others, whether it was cookies baked for Bible School, a present wrapped at the drug store, or a hug she gave someone in a time of need, were for the glory of God. The love God has for each of her family and friends was exemplified in the loving kindness of Margaret's life. Don't you know He greeted her with a special smile for serving Him so well! What a gift Margaret was to all who knew her, and how exciting it is to realize that right now, she is in the presence of her loving God! Graveside services will be held at the Albany Cemetery on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 1:00 PM, with a reception to follow at the First Baptist Church of Albany. Honorary pallbearers will be John Webb, Terry Garvin and James Robert Mitchell. Please make any memorial contributions to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center in Abilene, Texas. Local arrangements are being handled by Riverside Funeral Home of Belen, 418 W. Reinken Ave. An online guest register is available at www.riversideofbelen.com
