Lonnie Wells Baker, an employee of the University of the South, died Tuesday in St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville following an illness of about three months. He was 61.
Mr. Baker was the accounts payable and insurance clerk in the treasurer's office at the University of the South.
A resident of Cowan, Mr. Baker was a native of Franklin County and was the son of the late James Presley Baker and Sarah Weddington Baker.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Franklin Memorial Mausoleum.
He is survived by two sisters, Miss Ruthie Baker and Mrs. Willie Boswell, both of Winchester, and three brothers, Jimelzie Baker, Robert M. Baker, and Auburn Baker, all of Winchester.
