Frances, nicknamed Fannie, was the daughter of Tyre & Martha Fitzpatrick Best. She married Stephen D. Adams, the son of John S. & Lamina Walker Adams, on May 25, 1870 in Garrard County, Kentucky. The couple were the parents of Guy Clayton, Eva, Lamina Walker, Ora, Uva and Stephanie "Stevie" Adams. Mr. Adams passed away, in 1881.

Fannie moved her children to Beeville, Texas, prior to 1900. Her spinster sister, Ruth Miriam Best, accompanied her. By 1920, Fannie, along with her daughter, Stevie Adams Fenton, granddaughter Alice Fenton and sister, Ruth Best were living in the household of her son-in-law and daughter, Roy & Ora Adams Shipp in Fruita, Colorado.

Mrs. Adams moved to Deming, New Mexio, to live in the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Joseph B. & Lamina Walker Adams Brown. Her sister, Ruth, passed away in that city. Shortly after that, the Browns moved to El Paso, Texas and Fannie accompanied them. She passed away, at the Brown home, from the effects of pneumonia, with a duration of three days, complicated by a history of myocarditis.
