Julia Anne Sheets, 88, of Parkersburg, passed away at her residence.

She was born February 5, 1929 in Wood County, the daughter of the late James Frank and Beatrice Bryan Trippett Sheets.

Julia graduated from PHS and was a graduate of Marietta College in 1952, majoring in Foreign Language. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, The Sociology and French Clubs and sang in choral groups that performed the Messiah. She retired in 1991 from the IRS as a Computer Specialist.

She is survived by four cousins, Colleen Shaw (Butch) of Burgettstown, Pa, Mitzie Bradley (Frank) of Burgettstown, Pa, Brenda Casey of Follansbee, WV and Terry Casey (Debbie) of Weirton, WV, and numerous other cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a cousin Shauna Casey.

A memorial service for Julia will be at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at The First Baptist Church of Parkersburg, 813 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV, with Pastor Rich McClure officiating.

Visitation will be from 3:00 until time of the service at the church.
