ONALASKA, Wis. — Georgine H. Anderson, 78, of 154 Scott Drive, Onalaska, and formerly of Red Wing, Minn., died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.
She was born Georgine Helen Norton on April 11, 1928, in Winona, Minn., the daughter of Harry P. and Elenor E. (Roloff) Norton. Jean earned a degree in education from Winona State Teachers College. She taught english and social studies at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Red Wing.
Jean was united in marriage to Robert L. Anderson in August 1951 in La Crosse. Recently they celebrated 55 years of marriage. Jean and Bob spent many quality years traveling throughout the United States and were great traveling companions.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Scott (Nancy) Anderson of La Crosse; daughter, Cynthia Ligeti of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Corey, Nicole and Casey.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Lee Anderson; and her brother, Robert Norton.
Jean will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her love was unconditional and true.
Memorial services to celebrate Jean's life will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, 1476 W. Broadway, Winona. The Rev. Scott E. Olson of Central Lutheran Church will officiate. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona.
