Curtis Clifford “Shorty” Comer, 85 of Holden, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at his home.
Cliff was born May 16, 1931 in Salisbury, Missouri the son of Emmett Arthur Comer and Martha Elizabeth Jane (Spencer) Comer. He was raised in the Brunswick area. He was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Hampton on October 6, 1949 in Holden.The couple moved to the Holden area in 1956. Cliff worked at Stahl’s for twenty four years. He was an avid gardener and He loved tending to his yard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was younger.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; son: Clifford Emmett Comer of Holden; four daughters: Beverly Annette Huff and husband, Lee of Warsaw, MO; Marsha Kay Hedglin of Holden; Cindy Sue Adolph and husband, Gary of Highland,ILL. and Janey Louise Gomez and husband, Chris of Independence, MO; thirteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Mary Elizabeth; infant son: James Clifford; son-in-law: Terry Hedglin; two sisters: Helen King and Cleo Foglesong; and seven brothers: Oscar, Arnold, Cecil, Floyd “Joe,” Gene, Verner and Virgil.
Funeral Service were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 10th at Elm Spring Baptist Church, north of Kingsville with Rev. Robin Dale officiating. Interment followed in the Holden Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Terry Hedglin, Shane Huff, Casey Adolph, Cory Adolph, Zachary Houchen and James Bradshaw.
