A Celebration of Life service for George W. Funk, 82, of Granville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark, with Wes Humble officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery with Military Honors. George passed away March 15, 2017, at SharonBrooke Assisted Living. He was born August 11, 1934 in Newark to the late George Henry Funk and Dora Margaret McFeaters. A native of Newark Ohio, he was a member of the High School Class of '53. He attended Tri-State University, Indiana and served in the U.S. Air Force returning from active duty as a staff sergeant in 1956. He was a metallurgist and local Realtor for many years. He is survived by by sister Bettie I Funk Davis of Green Valley Arizona, two daughters; Deborah Funk of Michigan and Patricia Minch of Indiana, granddaughter, grandsons, four nieces & nephews; Steven G. Davis, Crystal Davis, Robin K Davis Sr. of Newark, and Sherrie Davis McGriff of Arizona. Two children predeceased him in death; Cindy Rae Funk of Indiana & William Michael "Billy" Funk of Tucson Arizona. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Carol Strawn Center, 126 West Church St., Newark, Ohio.
