David was the 3rd child of 6 children born to John Nealy Wroth and Lillian Maude (Schwinderman). He was born in Keg Creek, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. David was the loving husband of Belle I. (Smith) of 54 years and father of Eleanor, John and Shirley Wroth. When David was only 8 years old, his father sent his wife Lillian and 5 of their 6 children from Iowa to California in 1906 via train. David's father rode horseback all the way from Iowa to California.

David was a carpenter by trade and loved music, especially the Organ. He built the family home on Tampa Ave in Tarzana, California in 1948 where it still stands today. He is loved and missed by all of his children, grand children and great grandchildren.
