Dixie Faye Aumack, 76, of Hendersonville, passed away March 20, 2017. Born in Smithville, TN, Faye had been a longtime Hendersonville resident, moving here in 1975. Faye had retired from Kmart where she had worked for more than 25 years and had previously worked for the former Zayres in Madison. Faye was quite the world traveler having been to over 30 countries in her lifetime. Among her favorite places were the many island nations of the Caribbean; Florence, Italy; Istanbul, Turkey; and Amsterdam, Netherlands. Along with her late husband, Arthur, she had lived in the Philippines and Okinawa, Japan during his Air Force career. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Minnie (Hayes) Arnold; her son, Arthur R. Aumack, Jr. as well as her 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Tonya M. Aumack and son-in-law, Jason T. Collins of Lawrenceville, GA; her granddaughter, Jessica Aumack; her pet cat and grand-dog. A gathering to celebrate Faye’s life will be held at her home in Hendersonville, on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 1 PM. A private family burial will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sumner County Humane Society. www.sumnerhumane.
