William was the son of William J. Cochran and Elizabeth M. Brennen. They were married in 1909 and Elizabeth died of the Spanish Flu in 1918 at the age of 34. William Cochran, Jr. worked for the B & O Railroad for 30 years as railroad car repairman in Pittsburgh, Pa. He had three children, William Thomas Cochran born in 1937, Judith A. Cochran born in 1939 and Carol Ann Cochran Giarrusso born in 1941. Judith passed away at 3 months of age. His sister Anna Mae Cochran Carnahan was born in 1914 and died July 2, 2002. William and his sister Anna were taken in by Mary Brennen Adams and Walter T. Adams, Sr. after their mother, Elizabeth, died. Elizabeth and Mary were sisters. Their father William Cochran, Sr. went to live in Atlantic City, New Jersey to work as a painter and died there in 1959.
