Canton – Paul D. Day, 88, of Canton, passed away on Thursday morning, March 23, 2017 at his residence in Canton. He was born on July 29, 1928 in Washington, Pennsylvania, a son of Melvin and Helen (Hanna) Day. He married Joann Winship on October 3, 1948, she preceded him in death in 2011.

Surviving are three daughters Cinda (Marc) Rosenberger of Dunfermline, Connie (Rob) Brown of Canton, Crista (Doug) Robertson of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Six Grandchildren and two Great-Grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents Melvin and Helen ( Hanna ) Day. His wife Joann. One brother and one sister.

Paul worked for Caterpillar for 32 years as an inspector. He also worked at Lakeland Park in Canton and was on the underwater demolition team as a frog man. Paul was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 30th 2017 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1995 North Main Street, Canton, IL. Rev. Rick Atchley will officiate. Burial will follow the services at White Chapel Cemetery in Canton. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 30th 2017 at the funeral home.
