Married first to Fannie Kimbrell and second to Martha Ila Dilbeck. He was a farmer, owned a used furniture store, auto mechanic, etc. Since his father's first name was Jenkin, he went by his middle name Clyde.
He raised Preston Albert Hinds, who was Martha's son from an earlier marriage. Preston was very dear to Martha when Preston joined the navy (I think it was the navy) he went to basic training in San Diego. She insisted the family go with him. So grandpa closed up his used furniture store and got a mobile home they could tow behind the car. They drove from Oklahoma to San Diego. There they rented a space to live in while Preston went thru training. When Preston finished he got assigned to San Francisco. Grandma flew up there to be with him, grandpa and the boys hooked up the mobile home and started the drive back to Oklahoma. Sadly along the way, he lost control of the car and the mobile home crashed. All their belongings were spread across the field. After a brief rest (who know maybe a cry) they gathered up what they could load into the car and continued on their way.On early documents His name was shown as Jenkin Clyde Jones, but since his dad was Jenkin, he always went by Clyde. (Info from Alan Jones).
