After attending Southern Seminary (Women's College), Betty moved to Florida where she met and married her loving husband, Stanley D. Bornmann of Daytona Beach, FL, on January 26, 1957. They moved to Lakeland from Asheville, NC, in 1975.
Betty worked in the banking business for many years, and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had a great love of animals, especially her miniature Schnauzers and cats which were a big part of her life. Betty also enjoyed reading and sewing, which included making quilts for charities with her friends in Needle Benders Quilt Club of Lakeland and Granny's Trunk. She was of the Baptist faith.
Betty was preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Riley, Frank and Jack Spoon. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Stanley D. Bornmann; her son, David (Melissa); her daughter, Diane (Scott); and 3 grandchildren; Andrew, Natalie, and Matthew.
Visitation will be June 13 from 6-8pm at Gentry-Morrison Southside, Lakeland, FL. Graveside service will be held June 14 at 10am at Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland.
