Mabel Dora Scheurman-Abbey, born Oct 8,1930 in Deerfield, Kansas, passed away June 2, 2016 peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. She also lived in Mtn. View, MO with her husband Jack L. Abbey who preceded her in death Sept. 5, 2005. Also preceding her in death was her son Wayne Abbey; a great –grandson Joshua Cozart; brothers Leon Scheurman, Calvin Scheurman, and sister Eloris McAfee. Brothers-in law Bill Abbey; Jerry Abbey; John Abbey and Mike Abbey . Sister-in law Mary Abbey Koonce and Delores Abbey-Holden. She is survived by children Kathy Abbey-Hernandez, Suzanne Abbey-Mitchell and Michael Skinner. Also sister Betty Scheurman-Kruger, grandchildren Alicia Allred; Holly Allred-Cozart; Dena Weber-Share; Michael Skinner, Jr. and Adam Skinner. Fifteen great grandchildren, brothers-in law Jim Abbey ; Joe Abbey; Rodney Abbey and Steve Abbey. Sisters-in law, Patrice Abbey-Brown; Wanda Abbey-York and Diane Abbey-Cowen and numerous nieces and nephews who all adored her as she adored them.
One of her many treasured memories with her great- grandchildren was taking the out on a "Mystery Trip" where they were only given little clues as to where they were going. Now she is on her own "mystery trip". We will miss you dearly granny.
As a faithful member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church for many years and recently of Zion Lutheran Church, God was very important to her.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00pm at Zion Lutheran Church, 5050 East Sam Houston Pkwy S, Pasadena, Texas 77505.
One of her many treasured memories with her great- grandchildren was taking the out on a "Mystery Trip" where they were only given little clues as to where they were going. Now she is on her own "mystery trip". We will miss you dearly granny.
