Raymond Joseph Melancon, 85, a native and resident of Cut Off, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial March 31, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cut Off, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He was survived by his wife, Betty Lefort Melancon, a son, two daughters, four grandchildren, a great granddaughter, and two brothers.
He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Melancon; parents, Jules and Odile Blanchard Melancon and sisters, Linda Thibodaux and Doris Casbon.
Raymond was a former Police Jury member. Member of the Lafourche Parish Cattleman's Association; Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society; member Levy District, Lafourche Parish Drainage District #1. He was also the co-owner of South Lafourche Crawfish Farm and co-owner of Highland Subdivision.
