Viola (Ratiu) Pankowski was the wife of the late Charles S. Pankowski. She was the mother of Charles S. Pankowski, and Claudia Kempa and Michael L. Pankowski and Judith Bucknavich (Both of whom preceeded her in death. She also had 12 grandchildren(one of whom also preceeded her in death). Viola spent most of her life in the Detroit, Michigan area. She lived for many years with her partner William Kopke, who preceeded her in death. Viola worked in various fields and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and loved to gamble! She was a marvelous cook and always liked to entertain in her Hamtramck, Michigan home. Viola had a very "colorful" personality and was not someone you could soon forget. Viola passed away on November 10, 2001 after suffering a heart attack. She was being hospitalized at the time for respiratory insuffiency, a problem that plagued her for most of her last years. Her memory will always be treasured by her family. We love you Gigi!
