Sally was the daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy Ott. During her youth she traveled a great deal. Her parents were in the oil boom and their travels took them from Illinois, along the oilfield migration route through Oklahoma, Kansas, to Brownfield, Texas, and throughout West Texas. During her high school years, Sally excelled in various school choirs. Her solo and ensemble performances earned her many honors. Her love of singing continued as she sang in a praise and worship band and the church choir. Her love of music was handed down to her daughter and grandchildren. Sally was granted many miracles during her time on earth. She never failed to give God the glory for the bountiful blessings she received. She was our family peacemaker, counselor, comedian, family planner and coordinator. She was our tutor, teacher and mentor, but most of all she was our prayer warrior. She left this earth while sleeping after days of celebrating our glorious Lord with praise and worship. Her passing will leave a void in many lives.

She graduated from Permian High School in 1965. She attended college before marring Morgan Carrell in 1970. The couple spent a number of years in Germany. In 1974, after many years of longing for a child of her own, God laid her precious Misty in her arms. Although, no child was ever born to Sally, many were conceived in her heart. God granted her many children to guide, nurture and love through life. Sally was in fact "mama" to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Kenneth Michael Ott; and one unborn child. She is survived by her daughter, Misty; granddaughters, Sadie and Samantha; sister, Patricia Kelly; brother, Jonnie Von Ott; numerous nieces and nephews, many cousins and close friends.
