Obituary, published in the Alameda Times-Star, May 1, 2001:

NIEHAUS HERBERT "BUZZ" passed away April 28, 2001 in Albany, at 93 years of age. A native of Berkeley, he lived in Albany 51 years. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Lovelle Niehaus of Albany; daughter Marilyn Merry of Brentwood; son Kenneth Niehaus of Calistoga; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Mr. Niehaus was a motor repairman at Westinghouse Electric Co. Emeryville, retiring in 1987. He was a member of S.I.R.S. No 24, Berkeley, and taught ballroom dancing with his wife around the East Bay Area from 1958 to 1988.

Friends are cordially invited to attend graveside services Wednesday, May 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset View Cemetery, top of Fairmount Avenue, El Cerrito, and memorial service Saturday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 1319 Solano Avenue, Albany. Donations in memory of Mr. Niehaus may be made to Pathways Hospice, 201 San Antonio Circle 135, Mountain View CA 94040.
