Gary Haselby died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2005, in his residence.
Born March 23, 1949, in Logansport, IN, he was the son of Harlan H. and Evelyn M. Bair Haselby. His mother survives in Star City, IN.
On Aug 22, 1971, in Star City, Gary was married to Linda Lou Daily, who died June 18, 1996.
Gary graduated from Star City High School in 1967 and then graduated from Ball State University in 1972.
Gary was a teacher at Oaklawn Elemetary School in the Twin Lakes School Corp. He had taught for 33 years. He was a Twin Lakes School Corp Crystal Apple Award winner and a huge supporter of Twin Lakes athletics.
He was also a farmer and enjoyed 4-h and taking care of his large garden. He had donated several hogs for various Twin Lakes High School events.
He had worked summers at Indiana Beach for more than 33 years, going to work there full-time after his retirement from teaching.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Star City, IN.
Also surviving are four sons: Shane E and Michelle Haselby, Noblesville, Brandon S. Haselby and Shaw B. Haselby, both of Monticello, and Brock S. Haselby, Fishers; three granddaughters, Alyssa, Hannah, and Kiersten Haselby, all at home in Noblesville; one brother, James E. Haselby, Star City, IN.
One brother, Richard Haselby, preceded in death.
Pastor Dave Sommers and Larry Cragg officated at the services with burial at Star City West Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to the Gary Haselby Scholarship Fund, c/o Twin Lakes Education Foundation.
