Obituary

Nora Jean Goins passed away on March 29, 2017 in a local hospital. Nora was a lifelong resident of Singer Louisiana. She loved her family dearly and devoted her life to raising her family. Nora had a passion for basketball and all aspects of the game. She also enjoyed reading, playing pokeno, tending to her flowers and quilting.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years Vernon Goins Sr; parents, Robert Leo Havens and Mattie Ruth Ashworth Havens; brother Charles Ray "Bo" Havens.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Lynn Dale Havens (Sandra) of Singer, LA, Vernon Goins Jr.( Angie) of Opelousas, LA, Forest Darren Goins (Darlene) of Vidor, TX; daughters Laura Ann Jeans (Stan) of Merryville, LA, Janet Eileen Lorenz (Roy) of Singer, LA; brothers Robert Havens, Jr. (Beverly) of Everret, WA, Ken Havens (Betty) of Alvin, TX; sisters Rebecca Phillips and Phyllis Perkins (Clyde) all of Singer, LA; sister-in - law, Shirley Havens of Moss Bluff, LA; grandchildren Megan Forrester and (Kent), Kristin Lindsey (Nathan), Adrienne Barbosa, Heather Lyons (Bennett Zaunbrecher), Brandi Moss (Derek), Matt Spears, Hannah Goins, Kimberly Goins, Vernon "Trey" Goins III, Layken Lorenz, Cole Jeans (Ashleigh), and Clay Jeans; great grandchildren Brock, Gabriel, and Izzy Barbosa, Charleigh and Lety Zaunbrecher, Kathryn Curtis (Cody), Kelsye Cassell (John), Payton and Ava Jeans, Bryson, Brock and, Bella Bailey, Emma, Caroline and JoAnn Cassell; great-great grandchild Remi Curtis; aunt Gerldine Gearin ( Rufus) of Singer, LA.

Visitation will be held on March, 30 2017 at Smokey Cove Pentecostal Church in Singer, LA from 4pm until 9pm and will resume March, 31 2017 from 12pm until service time. Service will be held at the church at 2pm with Reverends Anthony Kennon and Donnis Ashworth Officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope cemetery in Singer, LA.
