Kevin Carl Angotti, of Denver Colorado, passed on Monday, March 20, 2017, after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Ravenna on May 5, 1954, to the late Jessie C. and Ruth (Cox) Angotti. Kevin was a homegrown athletic hero at Ravenna High School, and was listed as one of the national top ten drafts. After graduation he accepted a scholarship to attend North Texas State University. He later transferred to the University of Akron, on a basketball scholarship, where he earned a degree in education.

He taught woodworking, physical education and coached basketball at the middle and high school levels his entire life. He had recently retired in May 2014. Among his favorite activities was teaching young people to create things with their hands, and coaching athletes to be their personal best. It was during these interactions that Kevin mentored hundreds of students over the years.

As a teen, Kevin was impressed with Garden of the Gods, near Colorado Springs, and decided that area was where he wanted to live. In 1995, Kevin moved his family from Ohio to the Denver area. Living in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, he and his family enjoyed hiking, boating and fishing. Kevin was a master fly fisherman and avid motorcyclist. During summer months they traveled extensively in the western and southwestern United States, getting to know all of the national parks. Also, many trips were taken along the Pacific Coast.

Kevin will be sorely missed by his son, brother, niece, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in Ohio and across the country.
There will be no services or calling hours. Kevin requested that his body be donated to the University of Colorado Cancer Center.
