Mrs. Brown died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Brooke Haven Healthcare.
She was born Feb. 28, 1937, at West Plains, Mo., to Rube Collins and Jennie Morgan Collins.
She graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1955.
On Oct. 29, 1955, she was married at West Plains, Mo., to Clyde Henry Brown, who preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2010.
In addition to being a homemaker, she had worked at Brown Shoe Factory, Houston, Mo., and Jeffers Vet Supply.
Mrs. Brown was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, playing softball and time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandma and great-grandma.
Mrs. Brown was a member of First Baptist Church. She is survived by two children, Danny Brown, wife, Diana, West Plains, Mo., and Julie Brown, Columbia, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Debra Brown-Hawkins, Rolla, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jeremy Brown, Nicholas Brown, Devin Brown, wife, Amanda, and Danielle Brown; one great-grandchild, Gabe Brown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents; husband; one son, Captain Alan Clyde Brown; five brothers; and five sisters precede her in death.
Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the New Liberty Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or New Liberty Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
