Donald W. Allen, 63 years, of Uniontown, Pa., went home to be with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Friday evening, January 26, 2007.

"Don" was born February 17, 1943, in Aliquippa, Pa., the son of Harry Franklin Allen and Florence Sara Kelly Allen.

He and his family moved to Brownsville, Pa., in 1950. He attended Brownsville High School and graduated in 1961.

In 1962, he began working with Hillman Barge Company until 1982 as warehouse superintendent. During this time, he served on the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce.

After moving to Fairchance, Pa., in 1987, he worked as a security guard with Allied Security Company and also Laurel Security Company.

In 1993, "Don" accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord, was baptized and became a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Fairchance. He has served as an usher, Sunday School teacher, Assistant and Sunday School Superintendent and church van coordinator. He has helped with the Baptist Youth Fellowship and been the Chairman of the Christian Education Board of the church.

His greatest pleasure was participating in the Fairchance youth center, "The Back Door," the first youth center in Fairchance.

"Don" always had a lot of physical and health problems these latter years, but through it all he had trusted his Lord Jesus Christ to help him through those trials and tribulations. He has fought the fight, kept the faith and run the race and is with his Lord Jesus now enjoying the home prepared for him.
