Paul E. Abel, July 18, 1921 - March 31, 2017
Dallastown, Paul E. Abel, 95, entered into rest on Friday, March 31, 2017 at his home.

He was the beloved husband of the late Joan C. (Riedel) Abel.

Born July 18, 1921, he was the son of the late Paul P. and Ruth R.(Groft) Abel of York.

A proud member of Dallastown American Legion Post 605, Paul was a U.S. Navy Pharmacist's Mate attached to Sea Bee unit during WWII, serving for six years. He was also a faithful member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dallastown, and worked at Borg Warner as a machine operator and inspector, retiring in 1985 after 43 years.

He loved the New York Yankees baseball team and traveling the United States and many other parts of the world with his family. After retirement, Paul and Joan enjoyed many years as "snow birds" in Cocoa Beach, Florida. He lived a full and happy life.

Paul is survived by his three children, Michael E. Abel of Airville, Sandra J. Abel of York and Rebecca S. Garland and her husband, Michael of Airville. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Dellinger and her husband, Harold of New Bridgeville; as well as four grandchildren; and six great-grandsons.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown, with Fr. John McCloskey officiating. Prior to the Funeral Mass, a visitation with the family and an opportunity to view will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment to follow in Dallastown Union Cemetery with military honors rendered by York County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
