Edward L. Ennis, age 71, of East Galesburg, Illinois died at 8:42 A.M. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at OSF ST. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.
Edward was born on April 28, 1945 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Leo and Myrtle Farrell Ennis. He married Lavena L. “Trudy” Henson on February 4, 1967 in East Galesburg, Illinois. She preceded him in death on September 18, 2013.
Surviving is one son: Johnny (Darice) Ennis of Bowlingbrook, Illinois; two daughters: Amy (David) Pruett of Cameron, Illinois, and Abigail Ennis of Manassas, Virginia; five grandchildren: Janelle, Lydia, Jennifer, Alison and Sydney; mother, Myrtle Potter of Galesburg, Illinois; three brothers: Leo (Jenny) Ennis of Galesburg, Illinois, Tom (Barb) Ennis of Galesburg, Illinois, and Keith (Kathy) Ennis of Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father, step-father, Russell Potter, one sister, Becky, and two brothers, Larry and David.
He worked for Gates Rubber Company for thirty-four years in Production. He enjoyed Fishing and Hunting.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois with the Rev. Milton Marquith officiating. Friends and Family are invited to attend a Fellowship at 6:00 P.M. following the services at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home Fellowship Center in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to FISH Food Pantry.
