Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 251. He was a farmer and rancher and an avid hunter and fisherman. He served on the boards of W.C.E.C., Farmer's CO-OP of El Campo, Catholic Life Insurance and was a past director of Prosperity Bank.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Zalman and son, Joe A. "Joey" Zalman III.
Visitation begins 2 p.m. Thursday, April 6 at Triska Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass begins 2 p.m. Friday, April 7 at St. Philip Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Rother officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
